BASIC DRAWING SUPPLIES NEEDED.
8 1/2" x 11" white drawing paper or sketchbook
Pencil, eraser, a black Sharpie permanent marker AND bold bright colors for coloring. It's really up to the artist on what to use ... crayons, markers, color pencils or a mix of all three.

HOW KIDS WILL LEARN TO DRAW. With pencil in hand, kids will follow along with me. I will draw using a pace that's nice-and-easy so that no artist falls behind. I will ask my artists to periodically hold up their work and I will provide feedback. When drawing time is over, we will use a black Sharpie to trace over our work, making our picture 'pop' on our paper. After Sharpie time, we color. It's during coloring time when my artists can take turns un-muting to build a story about our weekly drawing. And don't worry about screen fatigue. Your child will not be staring at their screen/monitor the entire time. I incorporate fun 'brain break' drawing exercises to give our eyes a break and stretch our fingers.

WHAT WILL WE DRAW? The subject matter changes every time we get together. Each week, we will draw something new. I mix it up to introduce kids to various subject matters, including but not limited to: Fury and feathered friends. Fairy tale characters. Super heroes. Crazy zany cartoon characters. Still life. 3-D illusions and more! The pictures change every week and every month. I promise we won't repeat a picture, unless an encore is requested. ALL drawings will always be appropriate for ages 6-14. Siblings living in the same household draw for free as long as they are using the same login/device.

HOW LONG ARE THE DRAWING CLASSES? Weekly classes are 60 minutes. Special events are typically 90 minutes. The class description will provide the duration details. Parents simply log in their child a few minutes before start time, test their child's video and audio then walk away while the kids and I have fun drawing together.

HOW CAN I BE SURE MY CHILD IS IN A SAFE VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT?
Our platform is ZOOM. All participants will be required to keep their video camera on, especially at the beginning of class so that I can take attendance and maintain a safe environment. Anyone who looks suspicious OR is not officially registered to take the class will receive a warning to identify themselves OR be disconnected. I can assure your family, your child will be safe. We only use first names and never share the exact address of where we live. We also do not use the chat box. We communicate verbally with each other. At the beginning of every class, I review our virtual classroom rules so that all the kids are aware of what is expected of them and what they can expect from me. Simply stated, I will not tolerate rudeness, bullying or disruptive behavior. My #1 goal is a safe environment. My second goal is that I want the kids to have fun enjoying art together which will result in a picture that they can be proud of. My third goal is to give parents 60-minutes of quiet time while I keep their artist busy, creative and entertained.

CAN ADULTS DRAW TOO?
Of course! Parents/guardians/grandparents are always welcome to draw with their kids, however, I have to keep our environment safe for children. If I do not see your child in camera view, you will receive one warning to 'show' your child drawing OR be disconnected.

AFFORDABLLY PRICED. $8/class/household. Pre-register for a 4 week series or drop in periodically. Either way, if you have more than 1 child, siblings living in the same household can draw together at no additional charge as long as they are using the same login/device. 

CAN I REGISTER FOR MY CHILD FOR MULTIPLE CLASSES IN THE SAME WEEK?
If we are having a special event in the same week as our 60 minutes classes, yes. But if you are registering for a 60 minute class, the weekly subject matter we draw, for example on Wednesdays will be the same as Thursdays HOWEVER the picture changes every week, every month. So, if one week/month your child draws with me on a Wednesday but next  week/month it has to be Thursday, rest assured that they won't repeat what they drew last week, last month or even 6 months ago.

WHAT IS ZOOM?
Zoom is the LIVE interactive virtual platform we will use to connect with each other. You do not need to have a ZOOM account, however high-speed internet is recommended. The secure clickable link will be emailed to you 30 minutes prior to the start time of each class/event you registered for. Since I strive on starting classes/events on time, late arrivals might not be admitted into the virtual class, so set a reminder alarm on your phone so that you log in early. You will need ample time to get your child admitted into class, test your child's video and audio. ZOOM link changes for every class, so after class, so feel free to delete the email with the clickable link.
